Can you help a society member with his problem?

Dear Bernard,

Can I please ask members of the society for help on the following matter?

I am trying to trace details of my Paternal Grandfather, Frank Arthur Bird (died 1930's). Originating in South Wales he worked in South Africa for a time c.1890 - 1914. Unable due to the outbreak of the First World War in 1914 to return to South Africa, he, aged 40-50, married my Grandmother Minnie Taylor (later Minnie Shilvock) c.1917-1920 and worked for the Midland Red Bus Company as a Mechanical Engineer. They had one son, my Father, Douglas Bird born 1921, who died in 1988.

From another earlier relationship Frank Arthur Bird had a son, Arthur Frank Bird who died in the early/mid 1950's. Arthur Frank Bird married a girl from the Bearwood area called Flossie and they had two sons.

Any information relating to either Frank Arthur Bird or what became of Flossie, and her sons, following the death of Arthur Frank Bird will be very gratefully received.
